28 “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. 29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Here at the last supper, where Jesus is trying to explain that He is about to give up his life for us, the disciples have broken out in an argument about who is the greatest. And yet Jesus tells them, right after their petty ego fight, that they will eat and drink with him in his Kingdom.
I don’t know about you, but I find that so encouraging. And humbling.
